In 2001 design team designed the acclaimed international standard climbing walls and high-ropes course at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena http://www.eica-ratho.com/ . Since then ACL has worked on a large number of extreme and adventure sports projects. Contributing to regional development masterplans, commercial design and construction projects, leisure and adventure sports parks.
Adventure Concepts has a multi disciplinary extended team, covering the full range of skills require to take a project from concept to commissioning, including the potential to set up and run facilities post opening. This requires a flexible network of partner practices that understand the nature and culture of adventure action and extreme sports. To this end ACL works with chosen partners who understand the nature of adventure and extreme sports.
From inner city skate areas to the acclaimed slope style freeski and snowboard park in Mayrhofen, Austria, our specialist concept, design and development team have worked with some of the world’s most innovative developers, architectural practices and property developers.
Our team are experienced and committed adventure sports practitioners themselves who are fully committed to their chosen sports and activities. Our group consists of ex professional snowboarders, climbers and skateboarders. Our three primary design team members have over 60 years combined professional experience working as either sponsored riders or climbers. We have established deep and strong connections with leading equipment manufacturing companies, current ranked performers, filmmakers, designers and innovators. Throughout the ACL development design process we can reference these action sports industry practitioners, helping to establish credible and current facilities design, marketing and brand strategies.
